Total Solar Eclipse: Goddess Medusa

We have a potent full moon/solar eclipse in Scorpio on May 15 at 9:13 Pacific time. Not only is Scorpio the sign of transformation/death/rebirth.. but this eclipse is happening in sync with the rising and activation of Algol, which is a binary star known as the Third Eye of Medusa. 

This eclipse in Scorpio has the capacity to reboot and realign us to be completely on our soul's path. I speak about the astrological aspects at play in the podcast but want to re-emphasize that the questions that arise are very much about our soul's truth and soul's path... and the shifts that are occuring within us might be of a more energetic nature. THis means realizations about how we run our energy every day, the things we are carrying as "truths" that are not actually in alignment with our soul's truth. Full moons are times of culmination, realization and preparation for the waning moon cycle of release. Eclipse are super potent full moons, total eclipses are even more potent full moons, and this eclipse is in the sign of Scorpio which has the powerful capacity to reveal to us the "truth beneath the surface."

I also share in the podcast the myth of Goddess Medusa. Medusa is widely known as the scary, fierce snake haired woman who turned men to stone with her gaze. I unpack the myth and offer that she was not a demon, rather a powerful source of protection from patriarchy and from the energy of disrespect and power-over to return to the energy of oneness and power-with. The snakes associated with wicked scary female power harken back to an earlier podcast about goddess Coatlicue, translated to mean "snakes her skirt". An Aztec goddess so scary to those who found her they buried her again.

We are invited to remember that serpent energy is within us all, it is at the center of our spine, known to spiritual and metaphysical folks as Kundalini energy, but also invoked by the modern western medical tradition as the caduceus. It is interesting to note that even in the patriarchal caduceus we have the union of both divine mascualine and divine feminine energies, each serpent intertwining to make a balanced whole. ​
