Welcome to the New Moon in Cancer. I offer it as a seeding time to support us in preparing for the energetics of 2025. We have several powerful astrological configurations with this new moon, we also have a potent nodal axis shift.
I discuss the astrology of the new moon in the podcast (above) and youtube video (below). I wanted to take time in this post to share a bit more about the nodes and how they impact us.
Nodes aren’t objects in space, they are figurative/hypothetical points of energy. They show us where we’ve come from and where we’re headed. Nodes also act as the hosts of ongoing eclipses, making the Aries and Libra axis the primary energetic for the next 18 months.
Nodes are figurative but really powerful! They are a product (or happenstance?) of the convergence of the eliptic and the Moon's orbit. The eliptic tracks the sun’s annual revolution through our field of view, as astrology looks at all the celestial bodies according to how they affect earth energetics. Meanwhile, the moon moves through a very 3D orbital cycle around the earth, which forms angles to the ecliptic. When these two fields cross, the convergence points are called nodes, with one marking the south and another at the north. The nodes move retrograde/backwards through the signs, which is actually clockwise movement as most things in astrology move counter clockwise. Since the entire nodal cycle takes approximately 18.5 years, they spend about a year and a half in directly opposing signs. In July 2023, the north node moves into Aries, with the south entering Libra, where they’ll remain until January 2025, followed by Pisces and Virgo. Though Luna and the Sun come together in conjunction every lunar cycle at the new moon, and are in opposition during every full moon, they only hit the nodes, in tandem, approximately every six months. This is the phenomenon that creates our eclipse seasons, with solar eclipses occurring at a new moon, when the moon steps in front of the sun and obscures its light from our view. Lunar eclipses occur in sync with a full moon, as the earth blocks out the moon’s reflective light. Eclipses are download portals in the dance of the nodes, with the sun and moon acting as the main figures, bringing the themes of the opposing signs to the forefront. Below you can find my youtube video giving a quick snapshot of all the energetics of this event.

We have a super full moon with Luna in the sign of Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer. I discuss in the podcast astrological background, but wanted to spend some more time in this blog post explaining the communication between our Sun and Sirius and why having Mercury, the planet of communication, together with the Sun conjunct Sirius in Cancer is a wonderful activation for higher dimensional downloads and upgrades.
Sirius has been valued by many ancient cultures including the Dogon tribe and the Egyptians. The Dogon knew of Sirius before modern man invented a telescope strong enough to discover it. They understood that Sirius informed our Sun as a Central Sun. They also understood that Sirius was a part of a consecutive set of Suns that eventually ended/began at the Galactic Center of the universe. I offer for this full moon that Sirius is conjunct the Sun to support us in receiving and being able to understand and integrate the higher dimensional energetic downloads that are coming through.
Full moons are always times of manifestation, activation and realization. This super full moon is unique in that it is not only very close to the Earth, as in the gravitational pull and energetic charge of the Moon is more intense, but it is also it also has several astrological signposts pointing us towards future preparations.
These might be summed up as follows: 1) Pluto retrogrades back into Capricorn before it moves once again into Aquarius. 2) The moon and Pluto are activating the Saturn Pluto conjunction that kicked off the world shift of the pandemic in 2020. 3) Pluto squaring the North Node as we are preparing for a significant Nodal Axis shift with the next new moon on July 18th. The Nodal Axes inform our energetic downloads during eclipse seasons and they last for 18 months. We are coming out of Scorpio/Taurus axis and into Aries/ Libra axis. This is going to be a massive activation for self-empowerment and return to right relations. I will discuss this at length in the next podcast! 4) Saturn is very active during this full moon. It is sextile Luna herself and trine a stellium of planets in Leo, which include the Sun, Sirius, and Mercury. I hope that you enjoy this podcast! I've also included a link below to my most recent solstice live gathering, the recording can be found on my YouTube channel. |
