Virgo New Moon: Collective Consciousness Rising

We have a powerful new moon on September 14th. I focus in the podcast on two celestial alignments: a grand earth trine, and a vertex conjunction. I want to use this space to offer some additional insights about these two aspects. 

Let's begin with the grand earth trine. Generally speaking, a grand trine is an aspect pattern that occurs when three planets are situated at angles of 120 degrees - in other words trine - to each other and from what we know as an equilateral triangle. While a trine is considered a "positive" aspect where energetics of planets can flow harmoniously, a grand trine creates that sense of harmony and flow on a larger scale. In a grand trine, all three planets typically share the same element. Grand trines are fairly rare aspect patterns, and when they arise they are considered fortuitous and lucky.

The grand trine that appears during this new moon in Virgo has the Sun and Moon in the sign of Virgo (mutable feminine earth), Taurus in the sign of Taurus (fixed feminine earth), and Pluto in Capricorn (cardinal feminine earth). We can likely sense that this is a trine full of earthy feminine energy. It also has all three astrological qualities (cardinal, fixed and mutable) making it a multifaceted energetic to help us balance and embody the energy of the feminine and earth. Does that sound like a popular theme these days? It is! 

This grand trine is truly a blessing for us during this new moon because of the vertex alignment as well as the opening lunar event for eclipse season. The vertex alignment I speak of is actually a tight conjunction where the Sun, Moon and Vertex are at the exact same degree in Virgo. The vertex speaks to our soul's purpose and wish being fulfilled and is often said to be activated at major turning points in our lives. Together with the grand earth trine, this means we are supported in establishing a healthy sense of connection to our planet, to each other, as we reach new ways of knowing how interconnected everyone and everything always is! The outcome is that the traditional notion of "collective consciousness" is getting an upgrade, in that it is now no longer something we merely talk about, it is something we ARE. These energetic alignments can have the effect of deepening our sense of security, groundedness, connectedness and productivity based on natural talents and creativity.
