On December 7 2022 at 8:07pm pacific time we have a full moon in the sign of Gemini (this corresponds to 4:07am UK time). This full moon is packed full of energy supporting us in recognizing our limiting beliefs and rising above them. Now, that might sound like an ongoing theme, because it has been!
The nuance here is that inthe past "raising our vibration" or recognizing outdated patterns may have felt like energetic heavy lifting, and now with the Gemini Full moon it will likely feel much easier. The words that kept coming through as I was recording the podcast were: "Quantum leap forward." We are going to be able to instantly shift our perspective, our beliefs, our vibrations to something higher and better! I discuss in the podcast the Kuiper Belt object, Altjira, as being in conjunction (in support of and in sync with) the moon in Gemini. Luna is at 16 degrees of Gemini, which in numerology this is the energy of 7. 7 represents wholeness and perfection and is associated with ascension and the ability to move above and beyond any obstacles in life. Altjira is at 17 degrees of Gemini, with reduces to 8 in numerology. 8 is the number of infinity, symbolizing infinite energy and possibilities, also the cycles of time and the recycling and upcycling of energy. Altjira is an aboriginal term which has been translated by anthropologists and ethnographers to mean 'dreaming' or 'to dream.' It is worth noting that our current definition of dreaming is much more limited than what the aboriginals may have understood. I offer in the podcast that the dream time, which is also associated with songlines, is available to us every moment of every day and is an essential and powerful part of our role in the process of creation. altjira also means ‘eternal’, and so the idea of dreaming also includes the ‘seeing’ of eternal things during 'the dreamtime.' Altjira was also understood as a deity or primordial being who brought all things into physical form, everything from the landscape, to the plants, animals and people... EVERYTHING was understood to be created by altjira and to also have altjira existing within it.
The Rainbow Serpent or Rainbow Snake is a common deity often seen as the creator God, known by numerous names in different Australian Aboriginal languages. It is a common motif in the art and religion of many Aboriginal Australianpeoples. Much like the typical mother goddess archetype, the Rainbow Serpent is no different. The Serpent creates land and diversity for the Aboriginal people but when disturbed can bring great chaos.
There are many names and stories associated with the serpent, all of which communicate the significance and power of this being within Aboriginal mythology, which includes the worldview commonly referred to as 'the dreaming' or 'the dreamtime.' The dreaming (or dreamtime) or stories tell of the great spirits and totems during creation, in animal and human form that moulded the barren and featureless earth. The Rainbow Serpent came from beneath the ground and created huge ridges, mountains, and gorges as it pushed upward. The Rainbow Serpent is understood to be of immense proportions and inhabits deep permanent waterholes and is in control of life's most precious resource, water. In some Aboriginal cultures, the Rainbow Serpent is considered to be the ultimate creator of everything in the universe and is represented in rock art up to 6000 years old. Below are some rock art images of Rainbow Serpent. Enjoy!
