Welcome to this potently transformational new moon! This moon is telling us the story of ourselves, and of what we have to cleanse, heal and reboot so as to be on our optimal path. Likely there's some stuck stuff, so it might be a bumpy ride! The overriding message is hold on; to stay present and grounded. We are invited to remember and to trust that everything is always working itself out for the highest good.
We have a sort of scary but necessarily powerful and oh so healing goddess in our midst: Coatlicue (pronounced “koh-at-lee-kway”). Coatlicue is the Aztec goddess who gave birth to the moon, stars, and her son Huītzilōpōchtli, the god of the sun.
Coatlicue is represented as a woman wearing a skirt of writhing snakes and a necklace made of human hearts, hands, and skulls. Her feet and hands are adorned with claws. Her face is formed by two facing serpents.
I discuss in the podcast the two myths of Coatlicue, one potenlially less gruesome than the other. The one that feels resonant for me is about her goddess power and her ability to birth the time of the 5th Sun. Which the Aztecs knew was the time we are now living in. So to say it in simple terms, she is the goddess force that set in motion the birthing of our current Sun. Our Sun being the deity that gives us prana and life force energy. I discuss the myth of her sacrificing her human self so as to ensure the birth of this 5th Sun. As she sacrificed herself she was already glorified, but she became a powerful goddess with the power to reach across time and space and multiple dimensions.
So here we are! in the beginning of 2022, staring down the barrel of tons of change. Change that we have the opportunity to embrace as entirely empowering. Change that is putting us in alignment with our soul's calling. Nevertheless it is change. We 3d humans tend to have a challenge with change :) As such I was called to re-offer my energetic learning course. It is now a 4 week course hat you can take with me. You'll find both online and live gathering opportunities to interact. The material will be available to you throughout 2022. We embark on January 30th! You can find more information about this offering here's well as in the image at right. Here's the link to join us.
Welcome to the first full moon in 2022! While the full moon is exact on January 17th, the effects can be strongly felt the few days before and after, and more subtly felt the week before and after. So be sure to take a look at what unfolds well beyond the actual date.
It just so happens that this full moon takes place in the sign of Cancer: a cardinal, feminine, water sign, ruled by the moon. All of these qualities signal toward the energy of this lunation. Cardinal signals us to pay attention! Feminine calls us to look within for what are paying attention to. Water reminds us to allow the sensitivity of our emotions and our energetic beings to to signal us "yes" or "no".
This full moon is also ruled by la luna herself, as Cancer is ruled by the moon. So we have extra potent energetic understandings coming though right now. Our sensitivity is heightened with the moon being in her home sign of Cancer, depending on the individual this may feel like we're extra sensitive with our emotions, our thoughts, our physical bodies... or our energetic bodies and extra-sensitivities. The key to remember here is ALL of this sensitivity is good! We are after all energetic beings, we are here to remember what that's all about and how to harness the vast power contained within each of us.
To support us in all of this, we have Sioux Moon Goddess Hanwi. I offer in the podcast her legend and suggest that she is here now to help welcome back, embody and rebalance the divine feminine in each of us. Divine feminine is inward turning, aware of all of the subtleties of feeling and intuition. Hanwi, as the Divine Feminine, rules the darkness of night. Her counterpart Wi, as Divine Masculine, rules the day. Because Hanwi’s light, the moonlight, pierces the darkness, it is said to hold more power than the sun’s daylight.
Hanwi is a nurturing, protective goddess, here to support us in letting go of all the things we are carrying that separate us from our own innate light and from the divine feminine wisdom we intuitively have within ourselves.
When the full moon arrives, it is a time of realization, culmination and cleansing. We can use the power of the moonlight to cleanse ourselves, to face our shadows and fears and release of all that no longer serves. Hanwi keeps us safe, watching over us in the darkness, as we cleanse our energetic bodies mind from heavy energies and release stress, tension and fear.
With the theme of continued energetic sensitivity, I got the nudge to offer a second Energetic Clearing course! We will begin a three week journey together on Sunday January 30th. I know some of you didn't get the chance to join the first round of the course so now is the time to hop into the additional offering! More information here and by clicking the image above.
Welcome to the first new moon of 2022! As I mention in the podcast, we have a full moon in Capricorn, which happens again as the last full moon of 2022. This offers us a sort of "book ending" energetic understanding. Where what we take in now will likely come back to us in 12 months of time.
Put a different way, now is an extremely potent time for putting our energetic stamp on things. That might mean saying no to things that don't work, as well as reaching out into the ethers for the things we are calling into our lives. The idea here is that by the time this next full moon in Capricorn rolls around that there will be a full circle of the energy we are seeding. Let's Go!
I talk in the podcast about Goddess Yemaya/Yamanja. To the Yoruban People she is goddess Yemaya. She is also Ymoga (Mother of the Fishes), Iamanga, and Balianne. She traveled with them from Yoruba to distant lands, comforting enslaved peoples in the holds of ships that took them far away from their homeland in Africa. Today she is also known and celebrated under many other names, including the virgin Mary (Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception), Stella Maris (Star of the Sea), and Our Lady of Regla...the list goes on.
Originally Yemaya was a river goddess of the Yoruba in Nigeria, far from the ocean. She was a nature spirit, mother of all of the Orishas (helping spirits) as well as an Orisha herself. She was both a nurturing, powerful and when need be fierce guardian spirit. An Orisha manifests itself as a force of nature. When her people were hoarded onto the slave ships, Yemaya went with them, thus morphing into the Goddess of the Ocean.
Her ties to pre-chrisitan and pre-catholic religion are strong. She manifests as the divine mother of all sentient beings. From Africa, she is dark skinned as the people of that region knew her. She takes the form and energy of the mysterious and powerful Black Madonna, which has been readopted and empowered by some more radical sects of the Catholic church today.
Also, I want to share my new course beginning 1/08:
Energy Clearing for Energetically Sensitives and Everyone!
You can find the curriculum and sign up via the image on left.
Looking forward to seeing you on January 8th!
Welcome to the last full moon for 2021! We all likely agree that there has been some level of intensity and personal challenge, ultimately to support us on the path of awakening. It is fair to say that this has been a pivotal and transformational year, to say the least :)
This pattern of "challenge into awakening" will likely continue in 2022 and beyond. However we can take heart that all of the lessons and healing we have walked through in the past year (or two) are already within us, so we are likely much more ready and powerful than we realize!
I speak in the podcast about the Sun's conjunction to the Galactic Center during this full moon.
The Galactic Center, which sits at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy, is the source of energetic particles that bathe the Earth. These particles are first communicated to our Sun, which then communicates them to us on Earth.
With the recent year or so of increased solar activity (in terms of solar storms), we get the sense that the Sun has awakened from its slumber. There is an identified 11 year cycle of sunspots on the sun. This is documented by patterns or sunspots or solar storms that increase and decreased in a fairly regular pattern of about 11 years.
In sync with this about 11 year cycle, there has been a noticeable increase in solar activity since fall 2020. That is when the end of the last solar minimum ended, and the new cycle, Solar Cycle Number 25, began. The recent sunspot number progression chart below shows the numbers climbing since last year. (photo credits Just In Weather)
This split image to the right shows the difference between an active Sun during solar maximum (on the left, captured in April 2014) and a quiet Sun during solar minimum (on the right, captured in December 2019). December 2019 marks the beginning of Solar Cycle 25, and the Sun’s activity will once again ramp up until solar maximum, predicted for 2025. (photo credits: NASA/SDO)
Solar Cycles are correlated with climate and weather on Earth, so they can be used to predict in advance the extreme climate/weather in the World. It turns out they also influence humans' emotions through brainwaves.
It has been postulated that the sun, via its increase in solar flares, or the energetic particles (infrared and gamma particles) from the Galactic Center have been able to make their way into the Earth’s energy field at an increased frequency during times of increase solar activity. This has likely been happening in 11 or so year cycles for a very long time, the difference in 2021 and beyond is that humanity is awakening and so the downloads are able to integrate within our physical 3d world more readily, resulting in actual physical shifts as well as shifts in consciousness.
The energetic particles (infrared and gamma particles) from the Galactic Center are thought to open up the sub-conscious mind, urging us to both release old emotional wounds and traumas and also to engage our New Paradigm roles. In fact, the Galactic Center acts as a transmitter of Divine Consciousness.
The Galactic Center sits at approximately 26-27 degrees of Sagittarius, which is a sign we know to be about freedom and truth. The sun is conjoined the Galactic Center at 27 degrees of Sagittarius during this full moon in Gemini :)
Depending on where you're at in the world you will experience this eclipse on December 3rd or 4th (exact on 12/3 at 11:42pm pacific time). It's a total solar eclipse and the last one we will see until the year 2023!
This eclipse marks the end of the Gemini-Sagittarius cycle that took place over the last few years, and sets us on a straight course for the next few years with the Taurus Scorpio eclipse axis.
Eclipses are times when lunar energies arrive with an exclamation point(!). With this particular new moon in Sagittarius we have not only the closing of one era, the last 2 years of eclipses occurred on the Gemini- Sagittarius axis but also the opening of another era a new moon and a straight course for the Taurus-Scorpio eclipse axis which will last through 2023.
This eclipse is conjunct to the Great Attractor, a special energetic phenomenon that is somewhat like a back hole only uniquely different. The Great Attractor is currently drawing in galaxies and seemingly consuming them at a rate of 600 km/second. Not only is this far stronger than what scientists call a supermassive back hole, but when seen with human eyes it appears to be sending energy outward versus pulling energy into itself. Furthermore the mass of the Great Attractor hardly counts for the inward gravitational pull observed. Not only is it an enigma, but it appears to be operating somewhat like a vacuum cleaner.. pulling things in and spitting them out. Whether we understand the phenomena or not, it is conjunct the sun and moon during this eclipse, potentially symbolizing and energetically supporting the massive pull-push cleansing process that we are all going through. (please see notes at the end of this post for more information about the Great Attractor)
I discuss these energies at length and the podcast for this astronomical/astrological event linked above, I also invite us to remember and invite the Celtic Goddess Arianrhod, into our lives at this time. Arianrhod, Celtic Welsh Star Goddess of Reincarnation, is known as “Silver Wheel”, “Silver Circle”, “High Fruitful Mother”, “Star Goddess”, and Sky Goddess. She is considered by many to be a Moon Goddess. She is a primal figure of feminine power, a Celestial Mother Goddess who through her role as Goddess of Reincarnation, rules fertility and childbirth.
Arianrhod (Arian meaning 'silver', and Rhod meaning 'wheel' or 'disc') is and was the Celtic Moon-Mother Goddess. The moon is the archetypal female symbol, representing the Mother Goddess connecting womb, death, rebirth, creation. A star and moon Goddess, Arianrhod was also called the Silver Wheel because the dead were carried on her Oar Wheel to Emania (the Moon-land or land of death), which belonged to her as a deity of reincarnation and karma. It is said that Arianrhod hosts the dead between incarnations, giving them rest and peace before rebirth. Each initiate’s soul is said to withdraw between incarnations to her constellation in the Corona Borealis called Caer Arianrhod. Thus, Arianrhod she is identified as a Goddess of reincarnation. Arianrhod is said to be able to shape shift into a large Owl, and through the great Owl-eyes, sees even into the darkness of the human subconscious and soul.
As mentioned above and in the podcast, the particular total solar eclipse is conjunct the "Great Attractor." I got the nudge to offer information from the source where I learned about this phenomenon: Phillip Sedgwick. The following is a direct quote from Sedgwick in his writings about the Great Attractor:
"At a distance of some 65 Mega-parsecs away, in the general direction of Centaurus, a massive galactic anomaly quietly does its work. This enigma slowly sips upon a liquid-like flow of galaxies drawing them into its huge gravitational grip, following in a river-like stream at an astonishing 600 km/sec. This migration of galactic matter includes the extensive Virgo Cluster, the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster, other groups and clusters and the Local Group - that would be us and our 30 plus galactic companions. For approximately 60 Mega-parsecs both upstream and downstream from us in this river, everything heads in the direction of the galactic cluster, Abell 3627. This astrophysical enigma is both huge and perplexing - thus, its unofficial, official namesake: The Great Attractor!
What the Great Attractor is remains a mystery. It clearly reveals relativistic characteristics - those of warping time and space while bending light with its massive gravity. But it lacks the event horizon required for it to be a black hole. This point demonstrates the radio source energy common within a Quasi-Stellar Object (Quasar). It shows strong retreat tendencies through its extreme red shift. Contradictorily, it has a huge ultraviolet contingent, just outside the range of blue to violet light. The variability of visible light shows in its notably broad absorption beams.
The enormous gravity of the Great Attractor actually bends light around it. It bends the light so much, that a glimpse of what is behind it can be taken. This quality of gravitational lensing provides clear behind the scenes insights, while simultaneously offering other refractive illusions. All we truly know is that it’s big.
Several interesting factors immediately jump about the physical operation of the Great Attractor (GA). First, it recedes from us at a fantastically high velocity, as indicated by its red shift. At the same time the extreme ultraviolet energy coming from beyond the opposite end of the light spectrum renders an approaching appearance. While this complex point actively recedes, it summons an energy of “come hither.” Once engaged, this pull exceeds anything known. The attraction to this point possesses a seductive tone, but in a classical Sagittarian mode. There’s something about it. It seems to possess this energy - it’s mysterious, it’s captivating, it might even be a direct personification of the Creator! Regardless, it knows something you have to know. One thinks, “While the path into the Great Attractor might tear me apart with unimaginable tidal forces, flood me inside and out with radiation of unknown proportion or whatever, I simply must seek out this knowledge.” If fact, the knowledge factors of this enigma are so strong that one will risk the factuality of their own beliefs in the interest of pure knowledge. Issues of rightness, wrongness and fallibility fail to matter here. The matter is knowing the way it all really works."
November 19 we have not only a full moon, but a lunar eclipse in the sign of Taurus. This eclipse officially kicks off eclipse season as well as the scorpio/taurus eclipse axis that will be with us through the end of 2023. That's an indication of the power of this season and the truly transformational times we live in!
I discuss in the podcast above the astrological and planetary aspects that are brewing in the heavens to deliver us just the right dose of hidden truths about the world we experience and our power to manifest.
In the vein of hidden truths, we meet at this eclipse with Goddess Ngame of the Akan people of Western Africa. The Name of Ngame translates as "Shining One".
She is a moon goddess, primordial in the sense that she created the heavenly bodies as well as brought life and soul into every living thing with her moon beams. She was believed to have a new moon bow from which she shot (like arrows) beams of lunar light and life into all creatures. This is what turned them from inert beings into living breathing, should carrying creatures. Without her, there is no life.
She was also believed to give brith the the Sun every morning. Robert Graves write of her in his book “The Greek Myths” saying that she is connected to Prometheus as fire-bearer ... he also write of her in “The White Goddess” as not only as a Goddess of life but also as a Patroness of Creative Inspiration, and that the Moon Goddess in many cultures often operates as a muse.
We have on November 4th a powerful new moon in Scorpio. Not only is the new moon itself quite potent, as the gateway into our next eclipse season, but the days before and after have powerful aspects. I mention several of these in the broadcast but wanted to outline two of them here as well.
November 2nd Venus aligns with Galactic Center
November 7th Juno and Luna align with Galactic Center
The Galactic Center is the center of our galaxy. If we consider that every planet and asteroid that affects us astrologically rotates around this As such it holds codes and keys to our souls journey in this lifetime. The Galactic Center is said to be the Central Sun to our Sun. In the same way that our Sun provides life force energy to us, the Galactic Center, as a Central Sun provides this life force energy to our Sun.
To quote Phlip Sedgwick:
"The Galactic Center acts like a satellite dish, directing divinely inspired information straight to the potentially receptive gray matter of our brains. If you believe in God, this might be the voice you hear. Regardless, within this connection you have the ability to pull down wild information which you would otherwise have no way of knowing."
Let's combine this with Venus ~ encouraging us to deeply and profoundly LOVE ourselves. as well as Juno + Luna ~ supporting us in being soulfully brave and deeply loving towards everyone and everything we encounter.
It is from this vantage point that we meet and entertain Goddess Juno. She is the most highly revered and centrally held goddess to the Roman Empire. If you've had the chance to listen to past podcasts you will know that I often look to the Greco-Roman Empires for "clues" for powerful avatars of older eras. As both Greek and Roman cultures conquered more pastoral and earth based cultures such as the Celts, Essenes, and Druids.
From this perspective we catch a glimpse of an age-old goddess, much more broad and ubiquitous than her multifold separate and confusing myths from the Roman empire. I offer here that she IS our HEART. That she is intrinsically connected to the most powerful aspect of ourselves, the energetic portal of our heart.
Welcome to the Aries new moon and to continuing waves of healing and transformation! We have the Sun in Libra and Luna in Aries, I discuss most of the major astrological aspects in the broadcast for this full moon, the exception being that I only merely mentioned the asteroids conjunct luna and sol. I want to outline the conjunction of Eris with the Moon and Haumea with the Sun, briefly. These two heavenly bodies are considered "asteroids" in modern astrology.
Eris, is commonly known as he Goddess of Discord. She is akin to the chaos dragon energy discussed in the previous podcast. Eris is breaking structure down in order to break through. Her processes support transformation, but she is the energy that appears to take things apart. She is conjunct to Luna in Aries, so out internal worlds are likely feeling the charge and the call for making things right, taking action, moving and going and doing things that seem very true for ourselves.
Haumea is also an asteroid, also a Goddess in Hawaiian mythology. Haumea is the guardian goddess of the island of Hawaiʻi. She is identified with Papa, the goddess of the earth and wife of Wākea (space). In this regard, Haumea was understood to be the first human who merged with spirit to give birth to Gods and humanity. She is also the goddess of fertility and childbirth, and the mother of Pele. We spend a good deal of time in this broadcast connecting with her and receiving her healing energies to support us to transmute our fearful energies and resistance into harmony, peace and light.
A little bit of trivia about Haumea: this asteroid's shape is actually somewhat unusual in that she is an ellipse with a size of 1920 x 1540 x 990 km. This shape is consistent with a *super* rapidly rotating object, where the rotation elongates the body. She is orbited by at least two small icy moons. These moons are called after two daughters of Haumea: “Hiʻiaka” (the patron goddess of the Big Island of Hawaii) and “Namaka” (the goddess of the sea).
Our next new moon in Libra promises a dose of "cosmic diplomacy." This means that we will be supported in lifting ourselves up out of the current structures that we see and know, and intuitively guided towards our own inner compass for what is good, harmonious and just.
Our inner and outer worlds will likely feel as if things are in a transition phase with this lunar cycle. Not only can we feel the changing of the seasons, we can sense the changing of energetics within ourselves, and we implicitly understand the need for change in the structures of the 3d world we inhabit. That's a lot of transition and transformation! Luckily, the universe is always in balance, and we have just the support we need to journey through these times. This support comes from the heavens in terms of celestial and planetary alignments. This support also comes from the ever present primordial goddess Tiamat.
I want to touch on the myth of Goddess Tiamat. We commonly find her in the Babylonian myth of creation Enuma Elish as the sea water goddess who is the primordial water that gives birth to everything. The myth commonly held/modernly known is not that simple, however, the story (as I discuss in the podcast) ends with Tiamat becoming a raging, scary, dangerous "chaos dragon" who is ultimately slayed by her son, Marduk. Marduk then creates heaven and earth with Tiamat's body. This is a somewhat confusing ending, as it is hard to comprehend how the origin goddess need to be killed by her son, who then creates everything. In the podcast I offer a different interpretation, one that keeps Tiamat's power and exposes man's egoistic folly of killing in order to posses a kingdom/land.
In this blog post I want to bring up a book Face of the Deep: A Theology of Becoming, written by Catherine Keller. Keller speaks of Tiamat's myth asking "How does a religion manage to vilify the goddess it still recognizes as cosmic parent of all that is?"
The book suggests not only that the myth and legend of Tiamat may have been misconstrued in Enuma Elish, but also that this patriarchal/male centered version of her story has been adopted into the book of Genesis and the creation myth held within Judeo-Christian traditions.
Genesis 1 states: "In beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.”
Keller suggests that Tiamat's name is synonymous with the Hebrew word "tehom" which means deep or abyss. When we read the quote from Genesis 1 again we now read: "In beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the Tiamat, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.” This is the idea I invite us to meditate upon intros podcast, that power hungry man may have created a Father God to usurp and take over the power of Mother Goddess. As with everything, take only what feels right and good for you!
In closing I want to offer one more quote from Catherine Keller's book:
"In Tiamat’s “heart-pondering,” may we not receive a clue for a hermeneutics that would let her live: her, the primal creativity, where children run wild, where the new is granted a costly permission by its antecedents; the body of all that is silenced or slaughtered so that the new order need not negotiate its claim? Such a tehomic hermeneutic, haunted by the dead goddess but not worshiping her, would not find the chaos waters always pacific. It would tune its texts to a universe that puts up with a lot of painful noise. It would teach its insecure traditions that turbulence, though it may have ill effects, cannot be excluded without murder…If we read the layered deep of Genesis 1.2 as a cunning parody of the Babylonian creation from chaos, we might regain the peacemaking Tiamat and expose the warrior. He has occupied the Abrahamic traditions in her absence (Keller, 122)."
September 20, 2021 brings a full moon in Pisces. This moon invites us into personal realizations that have the potential to be deeply or highly sensitive on the emotional and psychological scale... as we are being ushered into a deeper ream of release and surrender.
The past weeks have likely felt intense, challenging and also quite transformational on a higher level. This trend is likely to continue for the remainder of this lunar cycle, with the energy of full moon on September 20th revealing or bringing to light some aspect of how we are running our energy the is ready for upgrade.
I mention in the podcast that the antidote for all of our challenges during this time might be compassion. Compassion both for ourselves as well as for others. As you take in this side notice how it already feels potentially soothing.. like a glass of water or a cool breeze on a sweltering day.
The Goddess of Compassion is Quan Yin or Guan Yin. She has been revered within eastern traditions for centuries. Within Buddhism, Quan Yin carries the Goddess and Divine Mother energy. In Chinese mythology, Guanyin is the goddess of mercy and considered to be the physical embodiment of compassion. She is an all-seeing, all-hearing being who is called upon by worshipers in times of uncertainty, despair, and fear. Guanyin is originally based on the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara.
I hope that you enjoy the meditation offering in the podcast!
Finally, a note to those who may be interested in the Crystal Dragon Alchemy course. Each participant receives a crystal dragon or skull of your choosing as a part of the course.
